Actress Anne Heche, 53, in critical condition after car accident (video)

The car and house caught fire and the driver suffered severe burns, US media reported. An anonymous source confirmed to CNN that Anne Heche was involved, and the LA Times reports the car was registered in her name.

According to the newspaper, authorities believe Ms. Heche, 53, was under the influence of alcohol when she drove her car into the house on Friday morning (local time). There were no other injuries. It took firefighters more than an hour to extinguish the fire that broke out in the house following the accident. Before crashing into the house, she reportedly crashed into the garage of an apartment building.
