At the age of 5, Reece Thompson had a role in Titanic. 25 years later, he still receives a sum of money for this work.
In an interview with Business Insider, the actor said that, every three months, a value of about 300 pounds (the equivalent of about R$ 2,200) arrives in his bank account. What’s curious is that he doesn’t even remember the Titanic recordings.
“It’s weird because it’s not on my mind anymore. It’s not like I’m looking forward to my payment for Titanic.”
“It’s something that just happens. Sometimes it’s 100 pounds, sometimes it’s 250 pounds more.”
“I like that they keep showing Titanic. It means more money to me.”
Reece Thompson Still Gets Royalties for Titanic
The actor explained that, a few years ago, the value of his payment in royalties was much higher. Naturally, the amount has decreased over time, but it’s still amazing that the actor gets paid for a job he did so long ago, when he was so young.
Titanic was directed by James Cameron and became a resounding box office success. The feature film received critical and public acclaim, and was even a big highlight at the Oscars.
